Torrington, South Molton and Ilfracombe were all in action again on Saturday
Torrington will hope it is a case of third time lucky in the Cornwall and Devon Division this Saturday when they visit Pirates Amateurs.
Torrie have lost two on the spin since being promoted with a 27-5 defeat by Penryn following hard on the heels of a loss at Lanner.
Charlie Bazell was the try scorer in Saturday’s defeat by Penryn.
South Molton are top of Group A in the Dave Butt Memorial Trophy after making it two wins in a row with a 52-5 win over North Tawton.
The Men in Black shot into a 28-0 half-time lead thanks to tries by Callum Stones, Reece Eury, Mike Butt and George Whiting, all converted by Stones.
Richard Elliott added the fifth before Eury got his second. Skipper Ben Gatehouse was next to score.
Dave Fewings, bagged a consolation try for Tawts that Matt Baker converted.
Butt’s second try wrapped things up.
Ilfracombe were brought down to earth after their runaway win over North Tawton in round one when they lost 27-0 at Topsham.
Some of Ilfracombe’s players had got stuck in traffic on the way there, but arrived for the second half to strengthen their side.
The Brimlanders were 24-0 down by then and had no way back into the game.
Ilfracombe have a derby date at home to South Molton this Saturday.
