This week’s round-up from the Cornwall and Devon Division, Devon One and Devon Two

Torrington defeated Pirates Amateurs 17-10 to claim only their second win of the season in the Cornwall and Devon Division.

Pirates, who only had one replacement having had to raise a side round a flu outbreak at the club, scored first.

By half time it was 10-all and a single score settled it after the break.

Aaron Rundle. Ben Sawyer and Charlie Bazell were the Torrie try scorers. Sam Britton kicked a conversion.

Torrington, who are 15 points adrift at the foot of the table, are away to Plymouth Argaum this Saturday.

South Molton are the new leaders of Devon One after claiming a 45-8 home victory over Tamar Saracens.

Topsham, who were top, dropped to second after losing at Dartmouth.

The first half was quite tight, with the hosts leading 17-3.

Scrum-half Zac Stoneman scored the first try after peeling off the back of a maul.

George Whiting went over under the posts for a score that Callum Stone converted. Then Reece Eury was bundled over from close range.

In the final quarter of the match South Molton stepped up a gear and scored four more tries. Dan Smith collected two, with Stone scoring one from the halfway line and Dan Johnson finishing the day off with a fine effort.

Molton go to Exeter Saracens on Saturday.

Ilfracombe lost at home for the first time this season when Buckfastleigh defeated them 10-5.

Jack Marriott scored a second-half try for Combe, who are at home to St Columba this Saturday.
