Torrington need to get the penalty count down for Saturday home game with Honiton in the Cornwall and Devon Division.

Penalties and two yellow cards proved Torrie’s downfall at Hayle last Saturday, where they lost 26-20.

Torrie were only five points down at half time and looking to snatch the game. Penalties and cards put paid to that idea.

Richard Mann, James Creek, and Jaymie Todd scored tries. Todd took care of the kicking.

Promotion-chasing South Molton showed a clinical edge to claim a 29-0 victory over visiting Old Techs in Devon One.

South Molton led 8-0 at the break with a try by Richard Clarke and a penalty by Callum Stone.

In the second half they had to weather more pressure before a clever kick by Ben Gatehouse was picked up by George Whiting, who ran in under the posts to score a converted try.

Sam Howard then scored another under the posts from a set piece move, before South Molton secured the bonus point in the dying seconds with Clarke claiming his second try of the match.

Molton are at home to Dartmouth this Saturday in a re-run of the Dave Butt Memorial Trophy final at Barnstaple in October. Molton won that encounter.

Ben Hopkins and Dermot Dolton scored tries for Ilfracombe, with Dan Brierly kicking a conversion, in their 27-12 defeat at North Tawton.

Combe host promotion chasers OPM this Saturday in Devon Two.
