Bideford’s unbeaten start in Tribute South West One West continued when they beat Bridgwater and Albion 35-22 on Saturday.

Bridgwater just about matched Bideford in the first half – they turned round 15-12 down – but the second half was a different story.

“We had to play some good rugby as Bridgwater are no mugs,” said Bideford team manager Bradley Goaman.

“Up front we dominated them in the first half and although they were better in the second half, we were still on the front foot.

“Our half backs gave us a lot of control. T J Hyam was man of the match at scrum-half and Sean East kicked well at stand-off.”

Richie Norman and Rob Elliott bagged a try each for Bideford in the first half. Hyam converted one try and a penalty.

Elliott, Norman and Dean Folland added second-half tries. Hyam landed two more kicks.

Bideford have their first away fixture of the season this Saturday, travelling to Clevedon.
