Bideford’s worries in South West One West deepened when they went down 44-0 at home to second-placed Drybrook.

Having lost 113-7 to the same opposition earlier in the season, Bideford were a little wary going into the game.

Drybrook led 15-0 at the break and pulled away in the second half to win by a distance, albeit not as heavily as first time round.

Bideford had six regulars missing and lost scrum-half T J Hyam with a shoulder injury that is likely to rule him out for the rest of the season.

“That’s nine first team players out now with injuries,” said team manager Bradley Goaman.

“We only have a small squad and I have never known a season with so many injuries.”

Defeat drops Bideford to fourth from bottom in a division with three relegation places.

It does not get any easier for Bideford this Saturday as they are due to entertain leaders University of Exeter.
