Visitors put up 43 unanswered points in 10th defeat of the season
Barnstaple will be sick of the sight of Taunton after conceding the double to them following a 53-12 hammering at Pottington Road.
Hopes were high of getting some sort of revenge after a 50-3 drubbing at Hyde Park in September.
And when Barum opened the scoring on five minutes with a corner try by Luke Berry, hopes were still high. But not for long.
Taunton raced into a 36-5 lead and by the time Barum scored again the visitors had 43 points on the board.
Ryan Lee ran back an interception try that Gwyn Parks converted for a 43-12 deficit.
Titans could afford the indulgence of losing two men to the sin-bin for ill-discipline as they were not going to be caught in the time remaining.
Defeat drops Barnstaple down to 12th in a table of 16. They are 13 points clear of the relegation places going into this Saturday’s 600-mile round trip to Suffolk to face Bury St Edmonds.
