Luke Berry’s score against Broadstreet has drawn plaudits from the Red Roses fullback
Luke Berry’s fancy footwork has earned him England Rugby’s try of the month award for December.
The Barnstaple fullback completed the outrageous try in Barum’s 27-15 win at Broadstreet on December 2.
Berry’s nonchalant touch with his outstretched left foot saw him control Gwyn Parks’ crossfield kick and gather it into his arms before touching down.
It was picked as the grassroots try of the month by England’s Danielle Waterman.
The Red Roses fullback said Berry showed ‘absolutely unbelievable skill’ to control the ball with his foot.
Berry saw it a bit differently though, telling the England Rugby website: “I didn’t quite have the pace to catch the ball so I stuck a foot up and luckily it bounced up for me.”
