Blues runners head to Weston for ‘Christmas Cracker’
32 Bideford AAC runners made the journey to Weston-Super-Mare on Sunday to compete in Weston AC’s Christmas Cracker 10k.
A very popular Christmas race where fancy dress is a necessity for most, the Blues team showed up as a group of Where’s Wally, Father Christmas, Elves, Andy Pandy and Christmas nurse with her patient!
The Blues’ first three runners came in under 38 minutes – John Shapland (8th) ran 36:57, followed by his son Keith Shapland (10th) in 37:20 and Scott Braunton (14th) in 37:48.
Their speedy runs secured first place for Bideford in the “Male Club” category. Their fastest female was Leaha Davey, who ran an impressive 50:28, while Liz Oke came 2nd in her category.
