Sights set on mid-table finish with two games in two days during busy Easter.
BIDEFORD moved closer to a mid-table finish with a 25-17 win over Bridgwater.
Bideford went ahead with a try from James Scott – in the side as cover for the injured Luke Hoyle – that Ollie Wickett converted.
Wickett added a penalty to make it 10-0 to Bideford at the break.
The Bideford lead was extended by Chris Snell after good work from James Buckland.
Bridgwater were awarded a penalty try after a series of five-yard scrums, Stuart Heal converting.
And when Steve Ward winged in for a try soon after, Bridgwater were right back in the game at 15-12 down.
Wickett slammed over another penalty before Buckland made the game safe with a try after Bridgwater’s Ollie Dunn dropped the ball in midfield.
Bridgwater had the last word when No.8 Tyler Buller drove over for a try. Heal’s drop-goal conversion missed.
Bideford have a busy Easter ahead as they play twice in 48 hours. On Saturday they host Cleve before travelling to champions-in-waiting Hornets on Easter Monday. Bideford then have two weeks off before entertaining Ivybridge in the Devon Intermediate Cup final on Sunday, May 4.
