North Devon League and Devon County Cup round-up, plus the second round draw.
Scott Sharpe scored two for Boca Seniors in a 5-1 win against Landkey Town in the North Devon Premier Division on Saturday.
Boca were made to work hard for their win in a physical encounter that featured several horn-locking displays involving former colleagues.
Matt Deakin, Kurt Bayliss and Daniel Found all featured for Landkey against their former club and despite a solid first half display by the visitors, it was Boca who had the edge.
Scott Sharpe fired a thunderous volley back across the goal and into the roof of the net on the half-hour mark.
He found the net again in the second half, as did Tom Marsh, Aaron Harper-Penman and man-of-the-match Jamie Frickleton. Substitute Adam Perry scored the consolation for Landkey.
Curtis Pyke scored four goals for Torridgeside Reserves in a 5-1 win against Hartland Clovelly FC. Courtney Hodorowski also scored for Torridgeside, while Paul Dart found the net for Hartland.
In the day’s other league result, Fremington picked up three points with a 2-1 win at Bideford Community AFC.
In the Throgmorton Devon Premier Cup, Braunton thrashed Barnstaple FC 11-0 at Tews Lane.
Nathan Willoughby and Mitchell Thorne both scored twice in Chittlehampton’s 6-1 win at home to Northam Lions in the North Devon Senior Division on Saturday.
Richard Eaton and Ciaron Lishman also scored for the visitors, while Craig Russell scored for the Lions.
Chittle’ remain second in the table after leaders Shamwickshire Rovers Reserves thumped Stratton United 9-2.
And there was a massive 10-0 win for third-placed Ilfracombe Thirds at Merton. Dan Wright and Ray Squire both scored four goals each for the Bluebirds, and there were singles for Sean Smith and Ryan Welch.
Meanwhile, in The Firewatch Devon Senior Cup, Pilton Academicals overcame a tough Crediton United Reserves side in mid-Devon.
Crediton went into the game unbeaten this season but the Accies stormed to a 4-0 lead courtesy of a Luke Arkless hat-trick and a single by Ben Paul.
Crediton flexed their muscle to pull three back but Pilton held out for the win to set up a second round home tie against either Sidmouth Town Reserves or Whipton & Pinhoe on October 14.
Also through to the next round are High Bickington, who beat Starcross Generals 3-2. Fremington Reserves thrashed Newton St Cyres Res 10-4, Georgeham and Croyde beat Newtown Reserves 6-2; there was a walk-over for Appledore Reserves.
