Charity football day proves a massive hit
The North Devon Greens raised £250 for the Chestnut Appeal through their charity football day at Mill Road on Sunday.
A good crowd of around 150 enjoyed two entertaining matches, as North Devon Greens beat Argyle Legends 4-3 and Bar Sol Ona beat Chestnut Rovers 5-0.
Greens had been 2-0 down but fought back well, thanks to goals from Rhys Curtis, Joe Barker and two from Hallum Cook. Bradley Swiggs scored twice for the legends, and Paul Smith got the other goal.
There was also a penalty shoot-out between Barnstaple Youth’s U13s and U14s, as well as entertainment from the Barnet Brothers.
North Devon Greens’ Paul Richardson thanked all of the teams for taking part, and thanked Barnstaple Town for hosting the event.
