Bideford AAC enjoy great success at Bideford Half Marathon

HOSTS Bideford AAC enjoyed a very successful Bideford Half Marathon this weekend.

Bideford’s runners snapped up four of the top five positions overall, with the Blues’ Shaun Antell coming across the line first in 1h 10m 34s.

Newham and Essex Beagles’ Kairn Stone was next home in 1:11:08, followed by Bideford trio Ronnie Richmond, Ian Gooding and Steve Gallienne.

Almost 1,000 runners took on the 13-mile course, with Serane Stone of Tiverton Harriers recording the fastest female time in 1:21:04 – almost four minutes faster than the next quickest woman.

17-year-old Levi Colvin was the fastest under 20, finishing his first half marathon in an impressive 1:19:47 to clinch 17th overall, with Daniel Costello of Hayle Runners second in the category.
