This week’s North Devon netball league round-up

Bottom of the league Pat Willams Girls turned the tables to defeat Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in division one of the North Devon Netball League.

The return of Jodie Wrey has made a big difference and she was once again influential, working tirelessly throughout the match and winning several interceptions in a three goal victory.

Frank Heard’s Heffers also secured a win in the top division, beating Blue Oasis.

In division two, leaders Titans Jupiter were given a scare by Venners Bakery Shooting Scones.

Jupiter took the early lead but Shooting Scones competed well and clawed their way back into the match in the second half.

Shooting Scones took the lead with only minutes to play but Leanna Fay defended well in the mid-court and Sara Jenn then found the net to tip the balance back in Jupiter’s favour.

When the final whistle blew, it was Jupiter who had a one goal advantage.

Carol Anne Emeralds and Venners Bakery Anacondas worked hard for their victories and after taking the initiative from the start.

Langtree had convincing wins in both divisions three and four.

In the third division, Reckers beat Coodes Cougars, while their Raiders brushed aside Carol Anne Opals 42-24.

Hartland Harriers and Carol Anne Jets were closely matched in division four, with Becky Goulding and Naila Rana battling in the circle.

Despite Goulding’s good defending, it was Rana’s Harriers who came out on top by a single goal.
