The object of the month is a surfboard that belonged to Britain’s first professional surfer back in 1978, the late Viscount Ted Deerhurst.
It is a Lightning Bolt shaped by Tom Parrish in Hawaii. Ted lived and made surfboards in the North Devon area for many years and was well-known amongst the local crew.
His board now forms part of the ‘Art of Surf’ exhibition which is at the Museum of British Surfing until Christmas. For further information log on to museumofbritishsurfing.org.uk
