TWO North Devon teenagers have been included in the Great Britain Surf Life Saving team to compete in Sweden later this month.

Ellie Parker, 18, and Lily Nichols, 16, both members of Woolacombe Surf Life Saving Club, will be members of the five girl and five boy UK team who will be travelling to Jonkoping in Sweden to compete in a variety of pool and beach events, including paddle board races, open water swimming and beach flags.

Three other members of the Woolacombe club – Conor Devine, Liam Ward and Summer Whiteley – were also chosen to take part in the GB Surf Life Saving boot camp, from which team members were chosen. Conor has been named as first reserve for the team.

Woolacombe club members will also be competing in the National Ocean event in Portreath this month.

They are hoping to carry on their successes in winning the Devon championships in the Nipper, Youth and Senior age groups.
