Three youngsters make the national finals after top displays at South West Schools’ Tumbling

NORTH Devon gymnasts impressed at the South West Schools’ Tumbling at Sherborne.

The day started well with South Molton’s Ibrahim Kanj taking gold in the U11 boys tumbling.

That was followed up by Flynn Rostock (Sticklepath), who took the silver in the U11 girls, while school friend Indya Dunn placed a creditable sixth.

In the U14s, Kaycee Wright (South Molton) was awarded the silver medal just ahead of Pilton’s Brooke Timmins who took the bronze. Sara Foxton (Kingsley) was in fifth for much of the competition but ultimately fell to ninth.

Sophie Johns represented Kingsley in the U19 girls and narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth.

Ibrahim, Flynn and Kaycee all earned places on the South West team for their excellent performances and will compete at the National Finals in Stoke-on-Trent in May.
