Stafford Moor near Dolton has been fishing amazingly well in the past couple of weeks.
Jason Shipway and son Liam had 23 fish out in 48 hours from the beach swim on Beattie’s Lake. Jason had a new PB, a 30lb 2oz shown and Liam had a new PB of 27lb.
Colin Rutter had three fish out including a stunning common carp, from the first swim on the dam wall on Beatties using Mainline hybrid boilies and pineapple juice.
Matt Mitchell had a 28lb 4oz fish from the beach swim on Beattie’s Lake and had a total of five fish.
Geoff Waring aka the ‘Carpbuster’ had two fish out up to 21lb 5oz from the summer hut swim on Beatties, while Craig had a 24lb fish from the beach swim during a quick overnight session.
On the trout front, at Wistlandpound the best fishing has been from the jetty and in the deeper water near the dam wall, with small black and green nymphs, such as Montanas, producing the best results.
Blakewell has been closed for essential maintenance but reopened on Monday.
Bideford Angling Clubs sea rover last weekend saw Nathan Clements take first with a specimen scad of 1lb 6oz or 110 per cent.
Second went to Tarrant Wotton with a sole of lb 11oz and Lee Watts was third with an undulate ray of 11lb 4 ½.
