BIDEFORD Nomads took to the road again and had to borrow players.
“Where have all the players gone,” bemoaned player-manager Stuart May as the team headed to Tiverton in driving rain!
The game was a good contest and the result only put beyond doubt by the hosts when they were awarded a penalty try well into the second period.
Nomads started well and should have taken an early lead, but the Tiverton backline was resolute and thwarted the visitors’ determined efforts.
They were led by Steve Moore and Andrew Beauchamp, who put in heavy tackles early on to set the tone, ably assisted by Lee Davis and Mike Bissett up front.
The whole team put in 100 per cent but had another blank on the points front despite their efforts.
The 24-0 scoreline was not a just return for Nomads and they will look to the visit of Sidmouth on Saturday to get back to winning ways.
