Nomads started the game with a scorching try after just 60 seconds.

Richard Squire received from the kick-off, offloaded in the tackle to Jamie Evans who fed the ball to the backs.

Lee Faux made 30 metres, leaving wing Darryl Peacock to touch down. Shaun Woodhead added the conversion but the momentum was soon lost as Crediton fought back to level ten minutes later.

Another flowing move from the Crediton back line ended with a try in the corner before the hosts hit back to level with an equally good passage of play, Charlie Russell touching down on the other wing.

Crediton surged back and scored again on the break to lead 19-12.

Despite massive territorial advantage in the second half, Crediton could not add to their score and weathered a late charge from Bideford to hold on to the victory.

Nomads’ Mike Stark and Chris Bailey were the pick of the pack with Mark Westcott and Darryl Peacock impressing in the backs.

Nomads will be hoping to be less generous when they travel to Okehampton this Saturday.
