ENTRIES are open for the Bideford Triathlon which will take place on Sunday, June 15.

The whole event will take place on the Quay, with a change of route incorporating a 500 metre swim, 22.5km cycle and 5km run.

The race will start at high tide (7.45am), with entrants entering the water from the Bank End slipway swimming upstream to the steps by the Kingsley Statue.

The transition will take place in the Quay car park, exiting opposite the High Street and biking towards Torrington along the A386.

The scenic, riverside route will turn left to Weare Giffard, through the village and past the Torrington Golf Club, and towards Monkleigh.

Arriving back in Bideford Quay, cyclists will hop off their bikes and run across the Longbridge, along the Tarka Trail and to a half way mark where they will turn back.

Last year’s race raised thousands of pounds for various charities with applicants fundraising through sponsorship.

Entry costs £39, or £49 for a relay team. For more information or to sign up for the fifth Bideford triathlon visit www.bidefordtriathlon.co.uk.
