The third-placed team were 2-0 up by the break and romped to a 4-0 lead with goals by Lewis Harris, Craig McConnachie, Nathan Delaune and a Nick Ward penalty before the Braunton youngsters struck back with two goals from Connor Stapley.

AFC Anchor travelled to Woolsery Reserves with only a small squad and injuries reduced them to nine men by the close.

But a Tom Frost hat-trick – one in the first half and two in the second -gave them the spoils 3-0.

Bottom-of-the-table Putford Reserves gave High Bickington plenty to think about before finally losing 3-1 in a good game of football despite the conditions.

They took the lead with a goal by Brad Prouse and keeper Darren Avery saved a penalty.

But High Bickington were back on terms by the break and went on to take the points with goals by Tom Sanders and Jason Hammond (2).
