Bideford shooter takes 10-metre air pistol bronze at Bisley
Another Bideford Target Shooting Club member achieved success this week at a shoot at Bisley – despite a faulty pistol.
Alex Lane had qualified for the final of the Eley 10-metre air pistol event through earlier stages, and shot in class B of the competition.
Just before starting, his air pistol developed a fault and he had to use his second gun, which was not as well set up for this event. Coupled with the fact he was not feeling well, the signs for a successful shoot were not good.
However, Lane’s hard work in training paid off, as he finished in third place with a score of 530 (86, 90, 95, 88, 85, 86) – just nine points behind the winner of the class.
Lane received his medal and certificate from the sponsors, Eley, and continues to prepare to shoot for Devon in the inter-county 10m and inter-county 20-yard pistol teams this winter.
