This week’s North Devon Gazette Football League round-up
Ilfracombe Town Reserves won the weekend’s only fixture in the North Devon Gazette Football League Premier division, beating Bradworthy 4-2 on Saturday.
In the Senior division, Morwenstow Reserves were on the receiving end of yet another drubbing as Merton beat them 8-2.
A Michael Hatcher brace was not enough for North Molton Reserves in the only other match in the division, as goals from Nathan Davis, Tim Durbin, George Turner and sub Steve Robinson secured a 4-2 win for Northam Lions.
There were no matches in Intermediate One as many of the teams took part in the second round of the Devon Intermediate Cup, while South Molton Reserves beat Lynton & Lynmouth Reserves in Intermediate Two’s NDJ Cup match.
Ashley Short gave South Molton the lead, which they held onto until half time.
Lynton equalised early in the second half, but a second from Short and a quickfire brace from super-sub Jeff Henry sealed their place in the second round.
After two weekends of cup action, there’s a full calendar of league games across all four divisions next weekend, including top of the table clashes in the Premier between Barnstaple AAC and Boca Seniors, leaders Braunton Reserves go to unbeaten Ashwater in the Senior division and first meets second in Intermediate One as Braunton Thirds host Equalizers.
