Ilfracombe Reserves moved through to the semi-finals of the Brayford Cup with a 3-0 win away to Bradworthy, maintaining a cup record which has seen them also reach the Westward Ho! Cup semis and the quarter-finals of the Torridge Cup –they play North Molton tonight (Wednesday) – without conceding a goal.
Joe Alcock opened the scoring for Ilfracombe and a 30-yard free kick by Mark Gilfillan made it 2-0 at the break. Gilfillan widened the gap with his second in the second period.
Boca are moving ominous up the Premier Division table again, their latest result a 10-0 win at home to Torrington.
In a remarkable game, there was no score at half-time as Boca battered at the Torrington door, but could not break through.
The second half was only a couple of minutes old, however, before the breakthrough came and then the floodgates opened.
Mark Barrow and Scott Sharp both scored hat-tricks and other goals came from Matthew Deakin (2), Tom Marsh and Simon Ovey’s first of the season.
Putford had an up and down weekend, following up a 3-0 league win at home to Dolton on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of North Molton next day.
Matt Coles, Wayne Pomeroy and Matt May were their Saturday scorers.
Resurgent Shebbear landed their third win in a row with a 4-0 result in a basement battle at home to Barnstaple AAC.

Torridgeside and Shamwickshire fought out a battle royal before Shammy finally won through 5-4 .
The first half hour showed no signs of the scoring to come as the teams effectively cancelled each other out.
Sam Schiller then opened the scoring for Shammy and added a second. When Will Nicholls made it 3-0 it looked to be ‘game over.’ But Torridgeside pulled one back late in the first half and opened the second in the same style to draw level at 3-3. Shammy hit two more to take command again before a late penalty made for a nervous finish.
Brothers Sam and Nick Fishwick gave Appledore Reserves the spoils 2-0 away to Combe Martin.
