ILFRACOMBE Town chairman Matthew Hayne has stepped down from the club’s committee.

It has been a summer of change at Marlborough Park, with first team manager Ross Middleton also leaving the club.

New manager Tom Bulley has been hard at work trying to add to the squad over the summer, but will now have to do so without Hayne.

In a statement, Mr Hayne said: “Regretfully, after some serious thought, I have decided to step down from the committee at the AGM.

“The club is well placed, in terms of finance, earnings potential, and improved public perception.

“It has been a pleasure striving to improve the offering that Ilfracombe Town can give the community, and I hope that it continues long after my departure, and that my successor takes the club to a further level.”

The Bluebirds begin their new Toolstation Western League premier campaign on August 9 at Bristol Manor Farm.
