North Devon Display Gymnastics Club prove themselves among the best in Devon

Gymnasts from Bideford’s North Devon Display Gymnastics Club made their mark with a huge medal haul at the Devon Novice Girls’ Four-Piece competition in Plymouth.

The girls were competing against the best in Devon on floor, bars, vault and beam, and for many of them it was their first competition.

In the over 13s category one, Phoebe Bradshaw took the gold medal, while Kelsi Hill-Meldrum earned herself a silver in the under 13s category two competition. Another silver medal went to Kylie Piper in the under 12s category one.

Youngsters Phoebe Treml and Charlotte Vanstone took gold and silver respectively in the Under 8s category one, while a whole host of other gymnasts narrowly missed out on adding to the club’s medal haul.

The club also achieved great success on individual pieces, with eight first places, 16 second places and five third places in total.

Coach Rattie Gordon said: “I’m so proud of all the gymnasts, they’ve all worked so hard on their performances and they really deserve all the success they’ve achieved.”
