A trio from the Academy of Gymnastics earnt a team gold at the Nadia Comaneci International Invitational in the Cox Arena, Oklahoma.
THE Academy of Gymnastics, Portishead, sent a team to the Nadia Comaneci International Invitational in the Cox Arena, Oklahoma.
The team consisted of Imogen Cairns, Imogen Chan and Ruby Harrold.
The Academy trio started on vault and Cairns produced one of the best routines. The beam was a good team performance, with Harrold giving a clean and tidy performance until a cartwheel at the end of the routine brought her off.
There was a great routine full of difficulty for Chan and Cairns did well in her routine. On the floor, all three were great. Cairns’ routine was a crowd pleaser, great tumbling and fantastic chorography.
Harrold won the senior all-around bronze in her first year in this category. 2008 Olympian Imogen Cairns impressed with her performances, winning the vault title and taking second on floor. Chan finished fourth in the junior all-around category, excelling on beam with an impressive 14.300.
With such good individual performances the team also took the silver medal.
The girls also met the legendary gymnast, Nadia Comaneci in person, as seen in the photo.
