Bideford sea angler takes club’s monthly rover with a specimen ray.

A nice blonde gate-crashed the fishing party for Bideford and District Angling Club’s monthly roving competition at the weekend.

A 14lb blonde ray, that is, snared by Graham Curnow and at 116.6% giving him first place.

Less glamorous rockling took second and third places for Andy Clements and Antony Smith respectively, weighing in at 1lb 6 ½ ounces (93.7%) and 1lb 4 ¾ (86.4%).

A 2lb ½ oz dogfish for Rick Eavis and a 1lb whiting made up fourth and fifth spots.
