They were never in front until the North Devon Journal Cup game went into extra time, but kept coming back for a 5-5 scoreline after 90 minutes and lasted the pace to add two more without reply.

Barnstaple top scorer Connor Nash added five more to his tally, while Tom Nash and Stuart McKinnon added others. Andy Stevens scored a hat-trick for Torridgeside and Sam Pett two.

They were not the only teams to score freely in this division, with four cup games producing 31 goals and a league match adding another nine!

Braunton Fourths were 6-2 winners in the cup at home to Anchor Chiefs, Sebastian Latham, Lee Eates, Paul Rockey (2) and Tom Hannah all finding the net.

Hartland Reserves made cup progress with a 6-4 result at home to Fremington Reserves.

Fremington opened the scoring, but then fell 4-1 behind by half-time. Russell Sharman (3), Ian Pillman, Philip Pennington and Paul Parker were the Hartland scorers while Sean Passmore (2), Henry Stephens and Melvyn Cassidy scored for Fremington.

Georgeham Reserves won their cup clash with Northam Lions 3rds by the only goal, scored late in the game by Ben Holmes.

The solitary league match to go ahead saw Pilton Academicals Reserves 8-1 winners away to Chittlehampton Reserves.

Claudio Pinto scored a hat-trick and Pilton’s others came from Sam Hommell (2) Darren Wood, Dave Coggin and Matthew Dellar, with Elliott Smith netting the Chittle reply.
