Two dozen gymnasts from the North Devon Display Gymnastics Club brought home a Christmas present in the form of great success at their final gym competition of 2012.
Continued a fine run of success for the club, they returned from the Fromeside Gymnastics Club in Winterbourne with 15 medals and eight close fourth places.
Caitlin Bradbury was first overall for her age group, gaining the highest points for her vault and floor routine.
Similar success followed for Phailin Ferracin and Kylie Piper, who were also first overall, while Alison Mower gained an overall third place.
Altogether the gymnasts came home with eight gold, one silver and seven bronze medals plus eight close fourth places. This brings the club gymnasts’ big haul of medals to 121 since they began competing in October.
Lead Coach Michelle Gordon said: “This reflects all the hard work evereyone has put in since we began competing in October. With more competitions coming up in 2013 and the success of gymnast and young coach Jordan Ley in winning the Devon Young People’s Volunteer award, we feel that the club is going from strength to strength.”
