Woolacombe survive late scare

Lions bite back twice in final 15 but are unable to salvage a point.
WOOLACOMBE and Mortehoe cruised to a 4-0 lead with goals in either half at home to Northam Lions Reserves in one of three Intermediate One matches played on Saturday.
Strikes by Adam Baxter, Dan Wright, a Paddy Weathers penalty and an own goal put more than a shard of daylight between them and the Lions.
But the visitors did manage to reduce the deficit with goals by Ben Rolf and Ben Brend in the last 15 minutes.
Ryan Welch, Zach Humphries and Shaun Bryant were the goal scorers for Ilfracombe Town Thirds in a 3-1 win at Torrington Reserves.
Jordan Brett scored twice for Barnstaple AAC Reserves in a 2-2 draw at Clovelly.
In Intermediate Two, Hartland Reserves went to the top of the table with a 3-0 win at home to Lynton and Lynmouth Reserves.
Dominic Allin scored twice and Paul Parker was also on target for the new leaders, who are unbeaten in their last six games.
Braunton Fourths hit South Molton Reserves for six with three goals in either half and in the day’s other result, Fremington Reserves beat Northam Lions Thirds 4-2. Gary Grant scored three and Andy Sanders was on target for Fremmy, while Ali Bright and Mark Hallett found the net for the Lions.
