St Neots Town 2-0 Bideford
BIDEFORD’S play-off hopes suffered a setback on Saturday as they lost 2-0 at St Neots Town.
The Robins were on the wrong end of a third loss in five games as they failed to get going after a lengthy trip to St Neots, and found themselves behind shortly before half time when Shane Tolley netted for the home side.
It was not the first game as captain that Rob Farkins would have hoped for, after picking up the armband from the departed Matt Hockley.
Tolley was on target again in the 72nd minute, doubling St Neots’ lead and all but sealing the three points.
The defeat leaves Bideford seventh in the Calor Southern League Premier division, seven points off the play-off places.
After a very impressive second season in the division, a recent dip in form has seen them pick up only four points from their last five games and fall away from the sharp end of the division.
Bideford will hope to get back to winning ways on Saturday, when they play host to Redditch United at the Sports Ground.
