THERE were goals galore in Intermediate Two, not least from the teams battling to stay off the bottom of the league table.
Chittlehampton came off best in their bottom-two clash with South Molton Reserves, winning 8-0.
Veteran striker Geoff Henry, 55, set them on their way and completed his hat-trick. There was also a hat-trick for Mark Heal and other goals by Josh Wren and Jordan Hussell.
Meanwhile, Hartland Reserves won the battle of the two teams just above them, with a 6-2 win at home to North Molton 3rds.
Russell Sharman hit a hat-trick and their other goals came from Steven heard, Paul parker and Mark Colwill.
Fremington Reserves and Pilton Academicals Reserves went one better, with Fremington running out 7-2 winners.
Gary Grant hit four for Fremington against his old club and the others came from Matthew Powe (2) and Harry Chambers.
Andy Keeble hit a first-half goal for Pilton and laid a ball to the edge of the box for Dean Stanworth to net their second after the break.
Braunton 4ths added to their tally with a 4-0 win away to Buckland Brewer with goals by Ben Woodward, Paul Rockey and two from Clem Benellick to remain waiting in the wings should either of the runaway top two slip.
But the unbeaten leading duo Braunton FC and Torridgeside Reserves both drew closer to ensuring their promotion places with midweek wins, Barnstaple beating Pilton Reserves 6-0 and Torridgeside winning 5-2 at home to Bratton Fleming Reserves.
