Downing’s 100th goal for the Robins overshadowed by four of the best from Ben Seymour

Ben Seymour scored four goals for Bideford in a 5-0 win at Swindon Supermarine this afternoon.

The Robins certainly answered the call from manager Sean Joyce to be more ruthless in attack, and they didn’t look back after Sean Downing gave them the lead after 25 minutes.

Downing’s fine individual effort which saw him dribble past the Supermarine defence before firing in was his 100th for the club.

Seymour doubled the lead six minutes before half time, putting the ball away after getting played in by Ryan Turner.

The Exeter City loanee got his second seven minutes after the break with a superb individual goal and completed his hat-trick on 77 minutes.

With 12 minutes of the 90 remaining he claimed his fourth, taking his tally for the Robins to 14 for the season.

The win takes Bideford up to sixth on the same day that seven of the top eight picked up three points. Supermarine move from fourth down to ninth.
