North Devon League: Braunton set up Brayford Cup semi with holders Park

Water-logged pitches affected much of Saturday’s North Devon League programme but there were games in the Senior Divison.
Braunton booked themselves a place in the semi-final of the Brayford Cup with a 2-0 win at Bradworthy on Saturday.
David Mason and Ross Maynard were on target for Braunton, who will now face holders Park United at Lobb Field on January 13.
Torrington will host Boca Seniors in the competition’s other semi-final on the same day.
Water-logged pitches affected much of the day’s North Devon League programme but there were games in the Senior Divison, where Chittlehampton took the chance to power on at the top with a 7-2 win at home to Combe Martin.
Ciaron Lishman scored a hat-trick and Matthew Latham fired two as Chittle’ made it 10 wins from 10 in the league this season. Mitchell Thorne and Nathan Willoughby also scored, while Kieran Sanders and Liam Silvestro netted consolation goals for Combe Martin.
With Pilton Academicals forced to sit out the weekend due to an unplayable pitch at Mill Road, Braunton Reserves moved into second place with an 8-1 win against Stratton United.
There was a hat-trick for Jacob Mardling and two for Will Dale. Liam Alexander Ashley Baker and Charlie Crane were also on target for Braunton.
Ben Garness scored a hat-trick as Ilfracombe Town Thirds put nine past High Bickington without reply. Mark Gilfillan scored two and there were singles for Ray Squire, Connor McKechnie, Connor Davey and Andros Stavrinou.
Chivenor beat Merton 4-1 thanks to a Sam Van-Weenen brace and goals by Johnathan Dolan and Matthew Church. Jack Robinson scored for Merton.
In the day’s other Senior game, Northam Lions and Putford shared the points in a 3-3 draw.
There were no Intermediate One games played, but in Intermediate Two, league leaders Braunton Fourths beat third-placed Georgeham & Croyde Reserves 3-0 and Eastside FC beat Woolsery 3-5. There was a home walkover for Appledore Thirds as Shebbear United Reserves were unable to raise a side.
