North Devon club honoured at inaugural BASH Awards

Barnstaple Ability FC were honoured at the inaugural BASH Awards at Exeter City’s St James Park on Saturday
Barnstaple Ability FC were recognised for their achievements over the last year at the inaugural BASH (Be active, be safe, be healthy) Awards .
The awards ceremony, designed to recognise the achievements of disabled people in the county, took place at Exeter City’s St James Park on Saturday.
The awards were presented by Devon and Cornwall Police’s Chief Superintendent Jim Colwell.
Club member Daniel Dibble won the category for taking up a new sport or activity.
Daniel took up football for the first time this season, and his boundless energy and enthusiasm helped him win the award.
Barnstaple Ability’s women’s football team were runners up in the same category.
The team formed this season, bringing together a squad of players with a range of different abilities and learning difficulties.
