ILFRACOMBE Ladies maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 7-5 home win against Plainmoor Ladies in the Devon Women’s Football League on Sunday,

Keeley Coates scored a hat-trick and there were singles for Hannah Dibble, Amy Terry and Gemma Aspinall, who has recently signed from Premier Division side Alphington.

Pick of the bunch through was Emma Jones’ cracking volley from an acute angle.

Manager Kevin Tarrant said it was a ‘tough game’ but his side played some ‘brilliant’ football against the young mid-table visitors.

Meanwhile Bideford Ladies got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory at home to Budleigh.

With a new formation the Robins started solidly and after a couple of substitutions, the pace and quality started to show.

Kelly Darnley scored the opener on her debut and Leanne Cording made it 2-0 at the break after good work by Tracey Cross.

The hosts turned possession into a third goal after the break, Ria Penfold sprinting down the wing before firing into the net,

Barnstaple Ladies match against LFC Sparta was postponed.
