Wells City 0-2 Barnstaple Town

Barnstaple Town made it five wins in a row with a 2-0 win at Wells City on Tuesday night.

It might not have been the free-scoring Barnstaple we have become used to seeing over the past few weeks, but it was still a highly effective performance from Barry Yeo’s side which also saw them keep another clean sheet.

Midfielder Lee Francis put Town in front, scoring for a second game in succession, before the break, and defender Josh Phillips opened his 2014/15 account in the second half to stretch their lead to two.

Their next test comes against Elburton Villa in the FA Vase first round qualifying on Saturday, with their next league fixture at home to Chard Town on Tuesday.
