This week’s South West Peninsula League round-up

APPLEDORE are off to a perfect start in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League division one east, beating Newton Abbot Spurs 2-1 on Saturday to make it two wins from two.

Sam Fishwick fired the home side in front with a fine solo effort, before Brian Levien banged in the second.

The Fishermen now sit alongside Galmpton United, Teignmouth and Tavistock as the only sides in the division still yet to drop a point.

They continue tonight (Wednesday) with another home game against Okehampton Argyle.

Appledore travel to Sidmouth Town on Saturday.

HOLSWORTHY suffered their first defeat of the season last Wednesday night, at the hands of Millbrook.

The Magpies picked up where they left off after a 7-3 opening day win, but were narrowly defeated by the odd goal in five.

Holsworthy are on the road on Saturday, when they travel to Wadebridge Town.
