North Devon was well represented at the Devon FA Community Awards, presented by Mcdonalds at Tiverton FC.

The premier award of the Steve Betts Memorial Trophy for individual who has shown outstanding commitment to the development of grass roots football went to Peter Evans, coach at Bideford Blues and Appledore Junior FC for 30 years and also a member of the Youth League Committee for much of that time.

The award for Outstanding Contribution to Community Football went to Gina Maynard, who has been a key figure at SAS Football Club in Barnstaple since its inception 20 years ago and is now chairperson of the West Country Cleaning North Devon Youth League.

Bideford AFC Youth were gained the runners-up award in the Charter Standard Club of the Year Awards, while their head coach Peter North won the award for Devon Coach of the year - exceptional achievements for a club that has been running for just one year.
