Hitchin Town 0-1 Bideford

BIDEFORD picked up back-to-back wins in the Calor Southern League Premier division for the first time since November thanks to a late Craig Duff winner at Hitchin Town on Saturday.

Duff broke the deadlock for the Robins in the 81st minute to help Bideford into fifth in the table, just five points off second-placed Chesham United.

And that goal proved enough to give Bideford the three points, with their frugal defence recording an eighth clean sheet in 11 league games.

But it wasn’t all good news for the Robins, who were without the suspended Rob Farkins, as top scorer Sean Downing was forced to go off inside 10 minutes with an injury.

Bideford are on the road again this weekend, taking on Corby Town on Saturday.
