Boca fight back just falls short

17:18 11 December 2012

BOCA Seniors saw their Devon Premier Cup hopes disappear despite a stirring fightback away to South West Peninsula side University of Exeter.

The students set the early pace with goals after seven and 16 minutes to hold a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Jack Jenkins struck back for Boca early in the second half, but the students then pulled away into a 4-1 lead.

Matt Deakin pulled another back for Boca, but when University scored again it looked all over bar the shouting.

Boca refused to give up, however, and a spirited fightback brought goals by Giles Daniel and another by Deakin to leave the students sweating in the closing minutes before they finally ran out 5-4 winners.
