Bideford lose Bank Holiday clash

Bideford 1-3 Truro City

Despite getting off the mark on Saturday, Bideford could not re-visit those heights against Truro on Bank Holiday Monday as they fell to a 3-1 home defeat.

The Robins went behind after 20 minutes, when Cooke fired in for the visitors.

But the home side were back on terms just 10 minutes later when Ben Wood scored for the first time since returning to the club over the summer.

In what is in danger of becoming an all too familiar pattern, though, despite going in level at half time Bideford were unable to get anything out of the game.

Cooke doubled his tally for the day just five minutes after the interval to put Truro back in front, before former Robins striker Craig Duff, who swapped Bideford for Truro ahead of the new season, sealed the three points for his side – their first away win of the season.

Bideford have slipped to 21st place, and will need to improve quickly to avoid what could become a long, hard season for the team who finished a record-high eighth last term.

They host Arlesey Town, who have also won just one of their first five, on Saturday.
