Robins get the better of League Two side

BIDEFORD followed up a memorable win over a Torquay United XI with an equally impressive 1-0 win over a Plymouth Argyle XI in their penultimate pre-season friendly.

A Ryan Richards penalty in the second half separated the two sides in an entertaining clash between a less-than-full-strength Bideford team and a Plymouth XI containing four first team players.

After Matt Wright was fouled in the area, Richards stepped up to mark his home debut with a well-taken penalty to put the Robins in front.

Bideford’s defence also looked solid, which will please manager Sean Joyce ahead of the new Calor League Southern Premier campaign.
