Robins’ cup run comes to an end in London with 4-1 defeat.

Bideford’s Emirates FA Cup run was brought to an end this afternoon (Saturday).

The Robins’ long journey to Haringey Borough in the third qualifying round ended with a 4-1 defeat.

A Ralston Gabriel hat-trick helped send the home side into the final round of fixtures before the first round proper.

Bideford lost captain Matt Bye to injury inside the first 15 minutes, replaced by Louis Roberts.

Gabriel gave Haringey the lead after 24 minutes, but the Robins battled back. Dan Western, Ian Sampson and Ryan Turner all had chances, but the visitors couldn’t equalise before half-time.

The crucial goal came five minutes after the restart, when Anthony McDonald made it 2-0 to the home side.

Gabriel got his second of the game shortly after the hour mark, and wrapped up his hat-trick 10 minutes later.

Craig Allan got a consolation goal for the Robins with one minute of the 90 remaining.
