Trelawney@Ashford sponsors six-a-side team Trelawney Trimmers

A BARNSTAPLE six-a-side football team has been sponsored by Trelawney Garden Leisure @ Ashford.

The Trelawney Trimmers, who ply their trade in the Barnstaple Park School Soccer Sixes League, have been given help to pay for their kits by the garden centre.

Caroline Howell-Williams, general manager of Trelawney@Ashford in Barnstaple, said: “It is great to see people keeping active and playing competitive sport so we’re thrilled we are sponsoring the team’s kit during the current season.”

The Trelawney Trimmers recently finished two points off the top spot in the first season of the league, which is open to sides of all abilities.

Team Captain Stuart Lane said: “I never thought when I started up this team how well and how far the players would come. Well done to everyone involved and roll on the new season where we will come first.

“It’s great to have the backing of Trelawney@Ashford and the team’s kits look great.”
