Barnstaple Town put their home form woes behind them on Saturday with a resounding 8-0 win over Westbury United.

Last year’s player of the season Jack Jenkins scored a hat-trick for the home side, who came into the game having won both of their away games with ease but having lost both games in front of the Mill Road crowd.

But their patience and belief were repaid in a big way on Saturday, as Town raced into a 3-0 lead at half-time.

The first half goals came from Jenkins, Ryan Turner and James Mayne.

Turner got a second after the break, with Billy Tucker also netting twice.

And the goal scoring was still not done, as Jenkins found the target for a second and then a third time on the day in the final 20 minutes.

The win was made all the more impressive given that striker Dave Pearse, a hat-trick scorer himself just a few days earlier at Portishead, was sent off in the first half.

The win should give Barry Yeo’s side a real lift, having picked up six points in five days, scoring 14 goals and conceding only once in the process.

Barnstaple have the chance to extend their winning run on Tuesday night, at home to Cheddar.

They travel to Wells City next Tuesday.
