Ilfracombe and Barnstaple both made progress into the quarter-finals of the Les Phillips Cup competition on Saturday.

BIDEFORD were held to a 0-0 draw away to Abingdon United on Saturday – the first side to have kept a clean sheet against the table-topping Robins in the league.

Barnstaple FC came out on top in a 7-5 cup goalfest with previously unbeaten Intermediate Two leaders Torridgeside.
Shebbear spring a shock on leaders
SHOCK of the weekend was the Brayford Cup defeat of Premier Division leaders Braunton at the hands of lowly league rivals Shebbear United, who are having their first experience of Premier football this season.

Braunton Reserves made progress in the Combe Martin Cup, beating Shamwickshire Reserves 3-2 after extra time.
