Swindon Supermarine 2-3 Bideford
Bideford progressed to the next round of the Carlsberg FA Trophy with a 3-2 win at Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.
The Robins burst into an early 2-0 lead through a good Kevin Squire finish and a strike from Craig Duff.
But Supermarine fought back well, and pulled one back from the penalty spot through Kayden Jackson.
Remarkably, the home side were awarded another penalty by the referee, which Jackson again converted to level the score at 2-2 – all within the first half and hour of the game.
The match duly calmed down in the second half, before another fine effort from Craig Duff settled the game 20 minutes from time.
Bideford were due to face Redditch in the league on Monday night, but their game has been postponed as Redditch’s FA Trophy match could not be finished on Saturday and will be re-played on Wednesday.
Bideford bagged a handy £2,700 for booking their place in the next round of the Trophy, which they will play on November 2.
