Bideford battled determined opponents and a difficult wind to extend their unbeaten run in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division 1 to 16 matches on Saturday.
A single first-half goal from Sean Downing was enough to give them the points away to Bishops Cleeve in a match in which a strong wind made both sides struggle to find fluent football.
The win, against a side who had themselves gone six previous matches without a defeat, keeps the Robins six points clear at the top of the table, with nearest rivals Hungerford also winning 1-0 and third placed Paulton Rovers 2-1.
Winger Downing had missed a chance in the opening 10 minutes after breaking clear, only to see his shot go wide.
But on half-an-hour he made the breakthrough, picking up a pass from Matt Bye to slot the ball home for his 10th goal of the season.
The Robins started the second half well, with both Matt Andrew and Ian Sampson firing the ball across the box. But there was no-one close enough to apply the finishing touches.
The Gloucester side continued to battle and pressed for an equaliser in the latter stages, but foundered on the strong defence of Aaron Harper-Penman and Jack Furzer.
This Saturday the Robins entertain Halesowen
